I AM
STEVE BACON
THIS IS MY STORY
I'VE ALWAYS BEEN INTUITIVE EVEN AS A YOUNG CHILD
Steve was born in Hayward and raised in Oakland, CA in 1984 at the height of the crack epidemic. Six months after he was born, his Mom became addicted to drugs leading him to bounce around from crack house to crack house.
Growing up in this kind of environment, he has only seen the world as it is, not through a child's eyes
I WENT TO 14 DIFFERENT SCHOOLS BY THE
TIME I GRADUATED
HIGH SCHOOL
Steve met his Dad for the first time when he was 8 years old when he told Steve he was coming to live with him. Confused and without all the information, this created a feeling of abandonment and hatred towards the women in his life, his Mom and Grandma, from assumptions that they gave Steve up.
Bouncing around to so many schools, this developed a skillset for Steve to learn how to adapt quickly to different cultures and environments. It also taught him a lot about social constructs and identity.
AT 17, I TOOK OFF TO THE MILITARY TRYING TO ESCAPE ALL MY
TRAUMA AND PAIN
After experiencing abuse, molestation and other trauma, Steve enlisted in the Air Force straight out of high school. Hoping to get away from his trauma only to realize - wherever you go, there you are.
AT 18, I MARRIED THE FIRST GIRL WHO SAID SHE LOVED ME
While in bootcamp, Steve's grandmother - his rock - passed away and he missed the funeral. Still in pain, he got married to the first girl who said she loved him and was physically, mentally and emotionally abusive.
When she finally got the courage to leave, Steve took a loaded shotgun, put it in his mouth and pulled the trigger.
I REALIZED I DIDN'T WANT TO DIE,
I JUST DIDN'T KNOW HOW TO LIVE
Luckily for Steve, the gun misfired. This led him to having to take anger management classes and turning to alcohol to cope with his anger and pain.
Steve married the second girl who said she loved him at 19 years old and repeated the cycle. After his second divorce, Steve went to a party and got into trouble with the law
I WAS WRONGFULLY CONVICTED AND BECAME A FELON - IT WAS A BLESSING IN DISGUISE
Now losing his military career, Steve was walking out of the court room and a man named Hank approached him and told him something that would change the trajectory of his life.
He said, "If you just change the way you see yourself, then everything in your life will change" and introduced Steve to the power of personal development.
PERSONAL DEVELOPMENT BECAME MY MAGNIFICENT OBSESSION
Steve's life began to turn around as he dove into the world of entrepreneurship and personal development. He attended seminars around the U.S. and studied anything he could on the mind and human behavior to better understand himself and why he did everything he had done in his life up until that point.
This sparked curiosity within Steve bringing up the question, "Can I truly heal from my past? Do I really have to live with this pain forever?"
I REALIZED EVERYTHING I BELIEVED ABOUT MY PAST WAS A LIE
Steve attended a PSI Seminar in 2015 where he traced back his "abandonment" issues and anger towards his Mom to a specific event when he was 8 years old. The day his Dad arrived and told Steve he was coming to live with him.
He approached his Mom and finally asked her about that day saying, "Why did you give me up?" She filled in the missing pieces that his 8 year old mind created and his whole world shifted...
THEN MY HEALING JOURNEY STARTED
Steve investigated and challenged every belief and childhood story he could remember from his adult perspective. This not only began to heal the relationship within himself but also within his family.
Steve helped his Mom get off of drugs and back into school to pursue her dream of acting. He reunited with his Dad after nearly 20 years of distance apart and created healing conversations of understanding about their pasts.
I STARTED TO TEACH EVERYTHING I LEARNED ABOUT HEALING TRAUMA
Steve started teaching the principles that helped him heal, which he calls Belief Theory, to Boys & Girls Clubs, YMCA's, organizations, schools and communities around the Bay Area.
He published his first book in 2019 titled
"Start Here: 7 Steps to Living Your Best Life" to provide a road map for those who are just starting their journey in changing their lives.
ONCE I CHANGED MY SELF IMAGE, EVERYTHING ELSE CHANGED
Steve invested over 6 figures into himself, in the span of nearly two decades, coaching and learning from some of the highest level coaches and mentors in the world.
Working with Bob Proctor gave him a deeper understanding on the power of self image. He began consciously creating who he was committed to BEING in the world and everything started to shift accordingly.
I HAVE A ZEST FOR LIFE AND WANT TO MILK IT FOR EVERY EXPERIENCE I FIND AN OPPORTUNITY FOR
Steve married his best friend, began traveling the world, started speaking on different stages and coaching international clients.
From almost killing himself over 20 years ago, he is now on a life long mission to be the happiest version of himself and teach others to do the same creating their ultimate happy life.
